DTK NEWS – Prof. Ir. R. Haryo D A, ST., M.Eng., Ph.D., a lecturer from the Department of Ocean Engineering, was officially inaugurated as a Professor in the field of Coastal Structures in a ceremony held today at the ITS Research Center building.
The event was attended by the ITS academic community, as well as colleagues from IKAGAMA. This inauguration marks an important moment in Prof. Haryo’s academic career, who has long contributed to research and the development of knowledge in the field of coastal protection structures.
In his inaugural speech, Prof. Haryo addressed the topic of the development of coastal protection structure technology. According to him, the rapid development of the maritime sector in Indonesia requires innovative solutions for the construction of coastal infrastructure that can mitigate the negative impacts of climate change, such as coastal erosion and rising sea levels.
With this inauguration, Prof. Haryo is expected to continue making significant contributions to the development of research and technology that supports sustainable coastal development in Indonesia, as well as having a positive impact on coastal communities who heavily rely on the existence of these structures.
