The Department of Civil Infrastructure Engineering of the Vocational Faculty at Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) organized an Open Talk between Students and Department Management as a platform for open communication between students and the department administration. The event was conducted in an interactive atmosphere filled with enthusiasm from all participants. This activity aimed to strengthen the relationship between students and department management while also providing a discussion forum regarding various academic needs and student development within the campus environment.
The Open Talk featured key speakers, namely Mr. Tatas, Ph.D., as the Head of the Department of Civil Infrastructure Engineering, Vocational Faculty ITS, and Mrs. Veronica Liestyani Ratih, S.S., as the Head of the Administrative Subdivision. On this occasion, Mr. Tatas delivered various strategic insights regarding departmental development, the improvement of educational quality, and the importance of student involvement in supporting an active and innovative academic environment. He also emphasized that students play an important role in providing constructive feedback for the future advancement of the department.
One of the main topics discussed during this activity was campus facilities. Students were given the opportunity to express their aspirations, suggestions, and challenges related to educational facilities and infrastructure. The discussion covered classroom conditions, laboratories, supporting facilities for student activities, as well as the overall comfort of the learning environment. The department management warmly welcomed the feedback and expressed its commitment to continuously evaluating and improving campus facilities in order to support a more effective teaching and learning process.
In addition to discussing campus facilities, the event also highlighted overseas internship opportunities, which attracted significant attention from students. Mrs. Veronica Liestyani Ratih, S.S. explained various administrative procedures, document preparation, and international collaboration opportunities that students could utilize to gain internship experience abroad. This information was delivered to help students better prepare both their academic abilities and personal competencies to compete at the global level.
