A study excursion organized by the Manufacturing Systems Laboratory, Department of Systems and Industrial Engineering, Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (DTSI ITS), was officially held as a learning activity to broaden knowledge of modern business practices and manufacturing systems in industry. This activity aimed to provide participants with a first-hand overview of the application of business processes, technological innovation, and sustainability commitments implemented by industrial companies. Through this study excursion, participants were expected to be able to connect academic concepts with real-world implementation in the industrial world.
The study excursion took place on Thursday, October 30, 2025, with the purpose of visiting PT KONE Indo Elevator. During this study excursion, members of the Manufacturing Systems Laboratory, consisting of lecturers and laboratory assistants, studied various strategic aspects of the company. Some of the learning focuses included PT KONE Indo Elevator’s core business processes, the use of innovation and smart technology in daily business activities, and the company’s commitment to sustainable production.
In addition, participants gained insight into PT KONE Indo Elevator’s employee growth and employer branding strategies, as well as the implementation of a lifecycle service maintenance system as part of the company’s sustainable services. Through this comparative study, participants are expected to gain a comprehensive understanding of the integration of business processes, technology, and human resource management. Therefore, this activity is a strategic step in supporting the development of learning and improving the quality of human resources in the manufacturing system.
