SURABAYA, Geophysical Engineering ITS – To enhance practical competencies and technical mastery across an integrated geoscience workflow, the Department of Geophysical Engineering, Faculty of Civil, Planning, and Geo-Engineering (FTSPK) ITS, in strategic partnership with Rock Flow Dynamics (RFD) and the Himpunan Ahli Geofisika Indonesia (HAGI) Student Chapter ITS, is organizing an intensive “3-Day tNavigator Training Course”.
This hands-on training session is tailored specifically for ITS Geophysical Engineering students to gain direct exposure to cutting-edge industry software, covering essential skills from geological data handling and seismic interpretation to 3D static reservoir modeling and multi-method geophysical data integration.

Key Learning Modules (3-Day Curriculum):

  • Geology Designer & Data Management: Project configuration, data import protocols, well logs, horizons, and stratigraphical marker management.
  • Well Correlation & Well Log Analysis: Log conditioning, quality control (QC), crossplot evaluation, and robust multi-well correlation.
  • Seismic Interpretation & Well–Seismic Tie: Seismic preconditioning, synthetic wavelet generation, well-to-seismic tie calibration, and horizon/fault picking.
  • Seismic Attribute & Time–Depth Conversion: Quantitative attribute extraction, velocity modeling, and time-to-depth conversion techniques.
  • 3D Static & Structural Modelling: Structural framework building, fault modeling, horizon gridding, and complete 3D structural grid generation.
  • Facies & Petrophysical Property Modelling: Facies distribution and petrophysical parameter modeling ($V_\text{shale}$, porosity, and permeability) using Kriging, Sequential Indicator Simulation (SIS), and Sequential Gaussian Simulation (SGS).
  • Rock Typing, Water Saturation & Volumetric: Rock type classification, capillary pressure J-function implementation, and volumetric in-place estimation.
  • General Geophysical Data Modelling: Integrated forward and inverse modeling for magnetotelluric (MT), electrical resistivity, gravity, and geomagnetic datasets.

Participant Benefits:

  • Hands-on operational training with enterprise-grade tNavigator software.
  • Direct mentorship and workflow insights from experienced industry instructors.
  • Practical technical skill enhancement to strengthen subsurface evaluation portfolios.
  • Academic and industrial networking opportunities.
  • Official E-Certificate (awarded exclusively to active HAGI members).

Schedule & Venue Details:

  • Target Audience: Exclusively for ITS Geophysical Engineering Students
  • Dates: Friday – Sunday, 2 – 4 October 2026
  • Session Hours:
    • Day 1 (Friday, 2 October): 08:00 – 16:00 WIB
