The Covid-19 pandemic has brought losses to most people, including the members of ITS. This is the reason the ITS Manarul Ilmi Foundation (YMI) and ITS Peduli help ITS Civitas families from underprivileged groups affected by Covid-19 by distributing assistance in the form of scholarships.
Through the Indonesian Student Bidikmisi program, it is hoped that it can support Indonesia’s dream to produce a golden generation in 2045. In this regard, ITS commemorates the 10th anniversary of ITS Bidikmisi (BIMITS) through an activity titled Dinamits – Through a Decade: Creating Creative, Courageous, and Authoritative Millennials online
The Tunas Unggul Bangsa Foundation (YTUB) was formed by ITS Alumni, PENS, and PPNS as a form of real service in elevating the nation’s dignity through the provision of scholarships to ITS, PENS, and PPNS students who are economically disadvantaged to complete their studies.
Through the Sang Pejuang Scholarship, the Directorate of Student Affairs ITS opens opportunities for final year students who come from underprivileged families or are affected by the pandemic to apply for scholarships to complete their education at ITS.
ITS as an institution continues to strive to improve services for students, especially for students who need or come from underprivileged families. Hence, ITS provides new dormitory for students who comes from underprivileged families. The program is specially dedicated for students who are from low-income family, especially Bidikmisi students. The building of the student flats is one part of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) and ITS joint-work program.
ITS distributed endowment scholarships for 61 students affected by the pandemic. The scholarship was distributed in the form of Single Tuition (UKT) assistance during the commemoration of ITS’ 61st Anniversary.

Kemitraan Negara Berkembang Scholarship, popularly known as KNB Scholarship, is a financial assistance offered by the Indonesian Government to prospective international students coming from developing countries to pursue their master’s degree in one of the Indonesian universities. The scholarship was conceived at the 10th Conference of Heads of States of Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) countries, 1 –6 September 1992. The Government of the Republic of Indonesia began to offer the scholarship to potenal students from NAM member countries in the following year.
ASEAN University Network (AUN) & KNB (Kemitraan Negara Berkembang), AUN-KNB, are collaborating this year to provide a Master’s Degree scholarship at ITS for 2 years period. Since 2017, the program has been offered to Master’s Degree candidates from developing countries among AUN members. All academic programs (lectures and thesis) will be conducted in the English Language.
ITS’ Incubator aims to increase the number of successful technology-based businesses so that they become the backbone of innovation, technological independence, and an independent economy in Indonesia. Moreover, ITS’ Incubator strives to become a leading Technology Business Incubator among Universities and a center for the development of Technology Innovation-based entrepreneurship in Indonesia and Southeast Asia.
The Senior Incubator and Innovative Business Services of ITS received a visit from the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs team at the ITS Research Building, Tuesday (15/6/2021). In this activity, Kemenkop-UKM explained more technically related to the aims, objectives, and procedures of activities, as well as verifying the ITS Incubator Institution. In the meeting, ITS ILBI Senior Manager Baroto Tavip explained, ITS ILBI is open not only to ITS students and alumni but also to students and alumni of other universities, especially those based on technology and creativity.
ITS continues to support innovation and the Indonesian economy. It is shown by ITS commitment to open opportunities for financial assistance through ITS’ Local Innovation Grant 2021 program by the Directorate of Innovation and Science Technology Area.
ITS in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), as well as UNICEF, launched a digital platform called Incubits, which accommodates and brings together young Indonesian innovators in the field of providing and developing clean water and healthy sanitation technology.
The new normal era requires people to comply with health protocols to avoid Covid-19. Supporting this, the Community Service Program of ITS is committed to educating students of SDN Guntur, Cirebon City about the implementation of health protocols through online seminars.
The Minister of Social Affairs of Indonesia, Tri Rismaharini (Risma), collaborated with ITS and the University of Cendrawasih to tackle poverty in Papua. To follow up on this collaboration, Risma met with Uncen and ITS together with Papuan religious leaders at the Uncen Rectorate Building, Jayapura.
