Up to the year 2019, there were around 24,500 industries registered in the Ministry of Industry’s database and the existence of more than 100 industrial estates, where each area encompasses hundreds to 2,267 hectares. SEA-CICSIC 2025 (Southeast Asia – China International College Students’ Innovation Competition) is the Southeast Asian regional version of the China International College Students’ Innovation Competition (CICSIC). This event is held as a platform to encourage cross-cultural collaboration, innovation development, and entrepreneurship among university students. The team presented an innovation called Agrifloat, an automatic sensor- and GPS-based transportation device for oil palm fresh fruit bunches (FFB). This device utilizes irrigation channels in plantation areas as an efficient and environmentally friendly alternative transportation route.
Another proud achievement was made by a lecturer at FTIRS ITS. Dr. Adithya Sudiarno, S.T., M.T., IPM., ASEAN Eng., Lecturer at the Department of Industrial Engineering and Head of the Process Safety Engineering Study Program, successfully won the WSO Concerned Professional Award at the World Safety Organization Indonesia Safety Culture Award (WISCA) 2025 thanks to his extraordinary contribution in strengthening the culture of occupational safety and health (K3) in Indonesia.
On Wednesday, July 2, 2025, a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) was signed between PT PLN Indonesia Power and the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS). This event took place in the Leadership Meeting Room, 2nd Floor of the Rectorate Building, ITS. The event was also attended by the Vice Rector IV of ITS and opened with remarks from the ITS Rector. This agreement is part of a collaborative study plan aimed at supporting the development and utilization of the Simgenics Power Plant Operator Training Simulator software for a 400 MW Coal-Fired Power Plant (PLTU).
Surabaya, June 12, 2025 — The Faculty of Industrial Technology and Systems Engineering (FTIRS) of the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) held a training session on ``Occupational Accident Investigation and Reporting`` as part of the implementation of the Occupational Safety and Health Management System (SMK3) within the faculty. It was attended by lecturers, administrative staff, and student representatives from various departments under the auspices of the FTIRS.
