In order to increase import substitution as well as the level of domestic components (TKDN), STKK DRPM ITS actively participates in research product downstream programs, especially in the marine and geothermal fields. Establishing cooperation with industry is one of STKK DRPM ITS’s efforts in downstream research products. STKK DRPM ITS has successfully collaborated with several companies, including PDAM Surya Sembada Surabaya, PT Aktara Indonesia, and PT GARAM Madura.

From the research collaboration with PDAM Surya Sembada Surabaya, STKK DRPM, and PT ITS, Tekno Sains agreed to downstream SMRT GEO ITS products. Apart from product certification, this collaboration is expected to be able to produce Low-Cost SMSRT GEO ITS and penetrate the sales market. Furthermore, this research is also targeted to become a Start-up as a bridge for the commercialization process of Low-Cost SMRT GEO ITS products.

In the second study, STKK DRPM ITS collaborated with PDAM Surya Sembada Surabaya and PT AKtara Indonesia. This collaboration aims to create Low-Cost Tech LIDAR and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR). This research will be able to produce a prototype that can detect underground pipes as well as the infrastructure above them.

Apart from that, STKK DRPM ITS also conducted research with PT GARAM Madura to improve water pump automation in Pamekasan and Sumenep. This tool will also be equipped with a height sensor to optimize its utility.

When this research collaboration is planned to be submitted to the KEDAIREKA program, the hope is that collaboration between universities, industry, and the government can accelerate the downstream of research products.
