Surabaya – The Center for Marine-Earth Science and Technology Research (STKK) at the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) has received funding from the 2026 Priority Research Commercialization Program (Model and Prototype Testing) under the Directorate of Commercialization and Partnerships, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology. The research is titled “Development of a Motorcycle LiDAR Prototype for Regional Asset Monitoring to Increase Local Revenue (PAD)” and is led by Prof. Mokhamad Nur Cahyadi of the Department of Geomatics Engineering.
Funding Agreement and Timeline
The agreement was signed on March 13, 2026, between the ITS Directorate of Research and Community Service (DRPM) and the lead researcher. The project receives IDR 104.39 million, paid in two stages: 80% (IDR 83.51 million) at the start, and 20% (IDR 20.88 million) after the team submits its progress report, budget report, and daily logs. The second payment was recorded on November 9, 2026. The project runs from March 13 to December 9, 2026.
Required Outputs
By the end of the program, The Center for Marine-Earth Science and Technology Research (STKK) at ITS must deliver evidence of increased Technology Readiness Level (TKT), a blueprint document, a media publication in the form of a video documenting the development process and prototype results, and a poster. The team must also submit a final report and a 100% budget report, and upload a video to the DRPM ITS YouTube channel.
Evaluation and Student Involvement
The program includes two monitoring and evaluation sessions, for the progress report and the final report. The team must involve ITS postgraduate students and undergraduates through the MBKM research program, and record all assets from the research in the ITS asset management system. Equipment purchased under the project belongs to ITS, while intellectual property is managed by the ITS Technology Transfer Office.
Through this program, The Center for Marine-Earth Science and Technology Research (STKK) at ITS aims to turn research into a prototype that regional governments can use to monitor assets and increase local revenue.
