What is BPJS Ketenagakerjaan (Employment)?

National Health Insurance (BPJS) Ketenagakerjaan is a public legal entity established through Law No. 24 of 2009, which aims to provide adequate basic needs for each participant and/or their family members.

Who is eligible for BPJS Ketenagakerjaan at ITS?

Non-PNS (Non-Civil Servants)
BPJS Ketenagakerjaan for non-PNS consists of 4 programs, which are:
Work Accident Insurance (JKK)
A program that provides protection in the event of partial or total loss of income due to social risks such as death or disability caused by physical or mental work accidents.
Old Age Insurance (JHT)
A program aimed at ensuring that participants receive cash when they reach retirement age, experience permanent total disability, or die.
Pension Insurance (JP)
A program organized with the aim of maintaining a decent standard of living when participants lose or reduce their income due to reaching retirement age or experiencing permanent total disability. Pension benefits take the form of cash received monthly (for participants with a minimum contribution period of 15 years) or cash that is the accumulation of contributions plus investment returns (for participants with a contribution period of less than 15 years). These benefits are paid to participants, widows/widowers, children of participants, parents, or heirs of the participants concerned.
Death Benefit (JK)
A program organized with the aim of providing death benefits paid to the heirs of participants who have passed away.
PKF (Functional Contract Employees)
BPJS Ketenagakerjaan for PKF consists of 3 programs, which are:
Work Accident Benefit (JKK)
A program that provides protection in order to overcome the loss of part or all of income caused by social risks such as death or disability due to work accidents, both physical and mental.
Old Age Insurance (JHT)A program aimed at ensuring that participants receive cash when they enter retirement, experience permanent total disability, or die.
Death Insurance (JK)A program organized with the aim of providing death benefits paid to the heirs of participants who have passed away.

How does the BPJS Ketenagakerjaan registration mechanism work for new employees?

This process applies to non-civil servants and PKF:

New employees fill out the BPJS registration form, which can be downloaded here
Required documents: ID card, family card, marriage certificate, child’s birth certificate
Submit the form along with the required documents to the BPJS ITS admin at the Directorate of Human Resources and Organization at here
