Surabaya – The library at the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) hosted an educational visit from SDIT Ghilmani on Thursday (November 5, 2026). The visit was attended by 11 students and 2 accompanying teachers. The event provided an opportunity for the students to explore the world of libraries outside the school environment while exchanging information about library management and services on a broader scale.

The group was greeted by staff from the ITS Library in the library lobby. Next, the students were taken on a library tour, exploring various facilities from the 5th floor down to the 1st floor. Throughout the activity, the students showed great enthusiasm, asking many questions and expressing curiosity about the facilities and collections they encountered. On the 5th floor, they were intrigued by the Inspire Space, which features traditional games like dakon and chess. Students who love to read also seemed excited to see the collection of novels and comics in the circulation area.

The tour continued to the third floor, where the students visited the AussieBanget Corner and took photos there. They also took the time to browse a diverse collection of magazines, including several old issues that caught their attention. On the first floor, the group visited the Migas Corner. Although they are still in elementary school, some of the students were already familiar with the oil and gas industry and showed interest in the information provided. The visit to this area became even more memorable when the students wrote down their hopes on the Wish Wall located in the Migas Corner.

Through this visit, the ITS Library and SDIT Ghilmani were able to share experiences and learn about library practices—from service delivery and the use of technology to the provision of facilities for library users. The students’ enthusiasm during the activity helped create an interactive and enjoyable atmosphere for the visit. It is hoped that this experience will broaden the students’ understanding of the role of libraries while fostering an interest in exploring various information sources and library facilities.
