Menggunakan fotovoltaik atau panel surya, alat ini digunakan untuk mengonversi cahaya matahari menjadi listrik.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Salah satu anggota tim, Irgi Israr Altamis mengungkapkan bahwa proyek sosial yang dilakukan timnya tersebut sementara ini bertujuan untuk membantu meningkatkan produksi nelayan di Desa Bringsang, Sumenep, Jawa Timur. Memiliki potensi bahari yang besar, kelompok nelayan di desa tersebut masih kesulitan dalam pemenuhan ketersediaan bahan pengawet berupa es. \u201cPermasalahan yang dihadapi adalah daya listrik yang ada tidak dapat memenuhi kebutuhan suplai listrik untuk lemari es,\u201d ungkapnya.<\/p>\n<p>Terletak di kawasan pesisir, Desa Bringsang cenderung mendapatkan intensitas cahaya matahari yang tinggi sepanjang tahun. Hal ini memungkinkan cahaya matahari menjadi sumber energi listrik baru selain Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Diesel (PLTD) yang penggunaannya terbatas di desa tersebut. Cahaya matahari yang ditangkap oleh panel surya kemudian diubah menjadi arus listrik searah atau <em>Direct Current<\/em> (DC). Berdimensi 2&#215;1,64 meter, panel surya 300 <em>watt-peak<\/em> (wp) yang digunakan dapat memenuhi kebutuhan listrik lemari es hingga 20 jam per hari.<\/p>\n<p>Lebih lanjut, arus listrik yang dihasilkan kemudian dibawa ke <em>Solar Charge Controller<\/em> (SCC) untuk memastikan panel surya menghasilkan daya maksimum dan mentransfernya ke baterai dengan efisiensi tinggi. \u201cBaterai berfungsi untuk menyimpan energi sehingga alat ini tidak hanya beroperasi saat terkena sinar matahari, tetapi juga saat malam hari,\u201d tambah mahasiswa asal Jember itu.<\/p>\n<p>Sebelum dapat digunakan pada lemari es, arus listrik DC harus diubah menjadi <em>Alternating Current<\/em> (AC) dengan menggunakan inverter. Sedangkan inverter yang terhubung ke lemari es akan memastikan ketersediaan listrik harian agar produksi es dapat terpenuhi. Sosialisasi ini bertujuan untuk mendukung peningkatan produktivitas masyarakat. Tidak hanya menjual tangkapan laut secara langsung, masyarakat juga dapat memanfaatkan berbagai platform untuk menjual dan mendistribusikan olahan makanan ke luar pulau.<\/p>\n<p>Mengusung prinsip berkelanjutan, penelitian ini telah diajukan untuk kompetisi Innovillage 2023 yang diadakan oleh PT Telkom Indonesia dan Telkom University, yang dimulai sejak 25 Oktober 2023 lalu dan akan berakhir pada 9 September 2024.
