Berlatar persoalan tersebut, mahasiswa Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) yang tergabung dalam tim Program Kreativitas Mahasiswa Karsa Cipta (PKM-KC) menawarkan sebuah mesin sterilisasi alat medis yang diberi nama Medical Sterilizer Machine (MED-SMAC).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Adalah Muhammad Cendekia Airlangga, Ahmad Bariq Al Bariq, dan Marcellinus Veryllian Nathan yang menciptakan mesin dengan metode electrohydrodynamic ini. Melihat krusialnya proses penanganan medis seperti operasi terhadap nyawa pasien, tentunya hal-hal teknis seperti peralatan yang digunakan dalam proses operasi harus lebih diperhatikan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cArtinya, alat medis yang akan digunakan dalam proses operasi harus benar-benar dalam keadaan steril (tidak terdapat mikroorganisme yang menempel, red),\u201d imbuh mahasiswa angkatan 2018 ini.<\/p>\n<p>Maka dari itu, di bawah bimbingan Dr Dimas Fajar Uman Putra ST MT dirancanglah suatu alternatif lain guna sterilisasi peralatan medis berupa alat dengan nama MED-SMAC tersebut. Alat ini memanfaatkan sistem pengali tegangan dan Electrohydrodynamic yang dimodifikasi sedemikian rupa, sehingga mampu membunuh seluruh mikroorganisme yang terdapat pada peralatan medis.<\/p>\n<p>Mahasiswa asal Malang ini juga menjelaskan, electrohydrodynamic merupakan fenomena fisik yang terjadi akibat pembangkitan tegangan tinggi, yang akan menyebabkan medan antara jarum elektroda dan pelat elektroda. Bidang ini yang dimanfaatkan untuk membunuh mikroorganisme dengan menggunakan listrik bertegangan tinggi.<\/p>\n<p>Berdasarkan hasil pengujian, ditemukan bahwa tegangan output tergantung pada jumlah kapasitor yang dipasang. Semakin besar kapasitor, semakin tinggi pula nilai tegangan yang dihasilkan.
