Surabaya, May 2026 – The Quality Assurance Office (KPM) of Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) has successfully achieved ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System certification following a comprehensive external audit conducted by Intertek. This achievement reflects KPM ITS’s strong commitment to implementing an effective, systematic, and continuously improving quality management system in support of institutional excellence.
The Stage 2 audit, conducted on 30 April 2026, evaluated KPM ITS’s scope of services, which includes academic quality assurance, non-academic quality assurance, and institutional reputation management within higher education institutions. The audit results confirmed that KPM ITS has effectively implemented a quality management system that meets the requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 standard.
The audit report highlighted several key strengths of KPM ITS, including strong management commitment to quality management implementation, active participation and enthusiasm from personnel throughout the audit process, and robust support from information systems developed by ITS as the parent institution.
Furthermore, KPM ITS demonstrated compliance with the standard across critical areas such as management commitment, internal audits, corrective actions, continual improvement, operational control, and resource management. All assessed areas received a rating of “Meets Intent,” indicating that the organization has successfully fulfilled the requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 standard.
The audit identified only one minor nonconformity and no major nonconformities. The auditor concluded that the identified issue does not compromise the effectiveness of the management system or jeopardize certification. Consequently, the lead auditor recommended certification, subject to the acceptance of the corrective action plan for the minor finding.
This accomplishment represents a significant milestone in KPM ITS’s ongoing efforts to strengthen quality assurance practices and promote a culture of continuous improvement across the university. The certification also reinforces stakeholder confidence in the quality and reliability of services provided by KPM ITS.
Moving forward, KPM ITS remains committed to enhancing the effectiveness of its quality management system, addressing improvement opportunities identified during the audit, and continuously supporting ITS’s vision of becoming a globally recognized university through excellence in quality assurance and institutional governance.
