Surabaya, IT Journalistic — Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) has once again demonstrated its firm commitment to supporting the transformation of higher education through the strengthening of inter-university collaboration. A lecturer from the ITS Department of Information Technology (DTI), Dr. Ir. Henning Titi Ciptaningtyas, S.Kom., M.Kom., was invited as an expert speaker at the Digital Teaching Excellence Instructional Video Development Workshop organized by the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UPN Veteran Jawa Timur on Thursday (30/7).
Taking place in the Aboesono Room, FEB 1 Building of UPN Veteran Jawa Timur, the workshop carried the theme “Digital Teaching Excellence: Realizing Innovative, Interactive, and Adaptive Learning at FEB UPN Veteran Jawa Timur.” The event, attended by dozens of lecturers from various study programs within FEB, was officially opened by the Coordinator of the Accounting Study Program, Dr. Tantina Haryati, S.E., M.Aks.
The interactive atmosphere as Dr. Henning explains the strategy for utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) and instructional video production techniques to the FEB UPN Veteran Jawa Timur lecturers.
This strategic event aimed to enhance the pedagogical competence of lecturers in designing, producing, and developing innovative digital instructional videos. Furthermore, the workshop specifically encouraged the use of contemporary digital technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), to create a knowledge transfer process that is more effective, interactive, and adaptive to the needs of Generation Z students.
During the main session, Dr. Henning comprehensively outlined the concept of Digital Teaching Excellence along with its practical application prototypes. The material covered the full cycle of learning media creation, starting from instructional design preparation, storyboarding, video production and editing techniques, to content escalation using AI assistance. Through this modern approach, instructional videos are expected to transform from mere one-way delivery media into instruments that significantly boost student engagement and comprehension.

The participants’ high enthusiasm was palpable during the interactive discussion session that followed the presentation. Various critical questions arose, ranging from the ethics and limits of AI application and technical tricks for efficient video development, to integration strategies into the campus Learning Management System (LMS). This discussion successfully broadened the academics’ perspectives in crafting a digital learning ecosystem.
Through this expert service activity, ITS continues to solidify its synergy with various universities in Indonesia to drive technology-based learning innovation. This collaboration is expected to elevate lecturers’ competencies while accelerating the realization of a robust digital education ecosystem.
The success of this event is also highly aligned with the pillars of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), achieved through capacity building for educators and the strengthening of digital technology-based learning innovations to ensure inclusive, high-quality education.
