Diploma IV Study Program

Diploma IV in Instrumentation Technology Engineering is a level of professional education (vocational) which is held for 8 semesters. Graduates who complete vocational education programs at diploma IV (D-IV) from the ITS Instrumentation Engineering department obtain an academic degree in Applied Bachelor (S.Tr)

The education system in D-IV Study Program Engineering Instrumentation Engineering is designed to prepare graduates competent in designing, manufacturing, operating, commissioning, trouble-shooting, maintenance, repairing instrumentation systems in process industries and services based on systems of cyber-physical and development in fields of process control, distributed control systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Control (PLC), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), and Internet of Think (IoT) for old and new systems in accordance with standards set by ISO

The curriculum used in the diploma-IV study program is the 2018-2023 curriculum that has been prepared and agreed upon by all stakeholders. This curriculum is designed to produce graduates who are competent in the field of instrumentation engineering and have general skills. special skills, attitude, and knowledge as follows:

1 Being able to accomplish wide-ranging work and analyze data using various appropriate methods.
2 Being able to demonstrate quality and measurable performance
3 Being able to solve problem of work with nature and context according to his/her area of applied expertise based on logical thinking, innovative and responsible for the result independently
4 Being able to prepare reports on results and work processes accurately and valid, also able to communicate them effectively to others in need
5 Being able to work together and communicate and innovative in his/her work
6 Being able to be responsible on his/her work group achievement and conduct supervision and evaluation to the accomplishment of work assigned under his/her responsibility
7 Being able to do self-evaluation process to the group work under his/her responsibility and manage work competence development independently
8 Being able to do documenting, storing, securing and rediscovering data to guarantee validity and prevent from plagiarism
9 Being able to self- develop and compete at nation or international level
10 Being able to implement principle of sustainability in developing knowledge
11 Being able to implement information and communication technology in the context of the implementation of his/her work
12 Being able to apply entrepreneurship and understand technology-based entrepreneurship



1 Identifying, operating, and maintaining of instrumentation system through relevant and recent methods for monitoring, controlling and safety of system in industrial field
2 Measuring quantity using measurement devices and standard methods accompanied by validation measurement
3 Reading, making, and interpreting instrument drawing
4 Applying and testing performance of control system.
5 Choosing, setting up, operating, and maintaining sensor, transmitter, actuator, and controller
6 Using and operating a standard communication protocol
7 Reading and writing a program using structured-text and object-oriented programming language
8 Operate any kind of controller
9 Understanding standards and code in industrial sector.
10 Demonstrating, calculating and applying a mathematic model of dynamic system
11 Calibrating associated with the physical quantities

1 Understanding the concept of physical quantities in instrumentation field
2 Understanding the concept of mathematics, basic science and engineering
3 Understanding design and measurement technique of instrumentation, including sensors selection to meet desired needs of various tasks/objectives, within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability and sustainability
4 Understanding technique of fundamental instrumentation for science and technology development
5 Understanding knowledge of standard and code according to the prevailing regulations
6 Understanding principles and latest issues from the development instrumentation technology in industrial sector
7 Understanding technique and programming application in industrial instrumentation sector
