Surabaya, F-ELECTICS ITS – Starting from her consistent commitment in the academic and non-academic world, Agnes Zenobia Griselda Petrina has made a proud achievement as the recipient of the 2025 Nganjuk Regency Best Young Generation Award. This award is a form of appreciation for her dedication, perseverance, and contribution as a student who actively develops herself and brings positive impacts, both on campus and in her hometown.
Agnes revealed that the main factor that led her to this achievement was her consistency throughout her higher education. “In my opinion, the main factor is consistency during my time as a student, both academically and non-academically. In addition to maintaining my academic performance, I was also active in organizations, committees, and several self-development activities,” explained Agnes. Through these various activities, she learned a great deal about responsibility, teamwork, and leadership, which became important factors in the award selection process.
Agnes’ academic journey cannot be separated from the support of the campus environment, especially the Department of Information Technology at ITS. She believes that the department plays a major role in shaping the overall capacity of students. “The learning environment is supportive and there is plenty of room for students to develop, not only in class but also outside of academics. The lecturers and system at DTI ITS encourage students to be active, dare to try, and participate in various activities,” said Agnes. This support enables the development of technical skills and soft skills to progress in a balanced manner.
Behind these achievements, challenges remain part of the process that must be faced. Time management is one of the biggest obstacles, especially when having to divide focus between lectures and non-academic activities. Agnes said, “The biggest challenge is time management. I overcome it by learning to prioritize, making a more organized schedule, and trying to be consistent with the commitments I have made,” said Agnes. Support from friends and the campus environment also played an important role in helping her get through these phases.
The award also comes with an achievement scholarship that will be used optimally. Agnes emphasized that the scholarship will not only be used for academic purposes, but also for personal development. “I want to make the most of this scholarship to support my academic needs and personal development, such as learning new things, improving my skills, and preparing for the next stage,” said Agnes. She also sees the scholarship as a reminder to continue to maintain responsibility and enthusiasm for learning.

Furthermore, Agnes views students as agents of change who have a strategic role for their hometowns. According to her, the knowledge and experience gained during college should be contributed back to the community. “Students have an important role as agents of change. The knowledge and experience gained during college can be brought back to have a positive impact on their hometowns,” said Agnes, especially for Nganjuk Regency through social activities, education, and innovations that are relevant to the needs of the community.
This Best Young Generation Award is not considered the end of the journey, but rather the beginning of a greater responsibility. Agnes has a goal to continue improving her academic capacity while expanding her social contributions. “This award is not the end point, but rather a motivation to continue developing and providing broader benefits,” said Agnes.
Concluding her reflection, Agnes conveyed a message of motivation to the young generation of Nganjuk not to hesitate to pursue higher education.
“Never be afraid to try and dream big through education. The process is not always easy, but as long as you are willing to learn, be consistent, and don’t give up easily, you will definitely achieve results,” said Agnes.
For her, education is not only about personal achievement, but also a way to bring real change to her hometown.
With the spirit of consistency, the courage to try, and the commitment to make an impact, Agnes’s journey reflects the role of the younger generation in building the future of their region through education and tangible contributions.
