Surabaya, December 3, 2024 – Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) continues to strengthen its role as a center of innovation by establishing a strategic partnership with the Indonesian Inventors Association (AII). The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) took place in the DRPM ITS Meeting Room, 5th Floor of the Research Center Building, ITS Sukolilo Campus, Surabaya.

The MoU was signed by Prof. (R) Ir. Didiek, M.Sc., Ph.D., INV, Chairman of AII, and ITS representatives (ITS Rector, Prof. Bambang Pramujati, S.T., M.Sc.Eng., Ph.D.; ITS Vice Rector IV, Prof. Agus Muhamad Hatta, S.T., M.Si., Ph.D.; and DRPM ITS Director, Fadlilatul Taufany, S.T., Ph.D.). This partnership aims to promote the commercialization of innovations by ITS academics and maximize the positive impact of these innovations on national development.

Scope of Collaboration with the Indonesian Inventors Association

The partnership covers various strategic areas to support the advancement of Science and Technology (IPTEK), including:

• Education and Teaching: Enhancing innovation-based learning.
• Research: Encouraging collaborative research to produce new inventions.
• Community Service: Applying research results to improve community welfare.
• Human Resource Development: Strengthening inventors’ capacity in managing their inventions.
• Technology and Invention Valuation: Ensuring inventions are ready for commercialization.
• Connecting Inventors with Industry: Providing access for inventors to the industrial sector.
• Utilizing Information and Communication Technology: Supporting innovation activities through technology.

Roles and Responsibilities of AII in Commercializing Inventions

As a strategic partner, the Indonesian Inventors Association (AII) plays a crucial role in:

• Technology Valuation and Optimization: Analyzing the market potential of inventions.
• Industry Bridging: Connecting inventors with business players to support commercialization.
• Innovation Promotion and Marketing: Enhancing product exposure through exhibitions and networking.
• IPR Assistance: Helping inventors protect their intellectual property rights.
• Funding Access Provision: Offering funding solutions for inventors through grants and investments.

Advancing ITS Inventions for Commercialization

The ITS Rector emphasized that this partnership is a significant step toward commercializing ITS inventions.

The Chairman of AII, Prof. Didiek Hadjar Goenadi, added, “This collaboration is our commitment to assisting ITS inventors so their innovations can make a broader impact in society through industrial connections.”
