ITS Campus, GLC News — Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) continues to demonstrate its commitment to providing high-quality and adaptive educational services. Through the Global Language Center (GLC), ITS has adopted digital technology to optimize learning methods and language evaluation systems for its academic community.
Innovation in the learning aspect is realized through the use of the Neo Study application, supported by the language technology provider, DynEd. Through this platform, students can comprehensively hone their English skills, covering listening, speaking, and reading through an interactive approach. The system is also equipped with a self-evaluation feature to monitor students’ learning progress.
Not only in learning activities, digital technology is also utilized in the administration of language proficiency tests using the British Council EnglishScore application. This English competency measurement application is considered practical and meets international standards. Although digitally based, a strict proctoring system is consistently implemented, both for onsite and online test administration, to maintain credibility and minimize the potential for cheating.

GLC ITS Language Test Administration Staff, Mr. M. Teguh Prasetiyo MPd, explained that the use of British Council EnglishScore enables students to take English tests that are practical, fast, and globally standardized. “The support of a strict proctoring system ensures the delivery of a fair and credible test,” he stated. He added that the immediate availability of results after completion makes students more confident in the objectivity of their language proficiency assessment.
As part of this evaluation ecosystem, GLC ITS also operates a Computer-Based Test (CBT) specifically optimized to facilitate General English course exams. GLC ITS Teaching Administration Staff, Ms. Windy Ardianita Sari MHum, emphasized that standardization through this computer system plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy of test results. “The utilization of this CBT is a manifestation of our dedication to organizing a systematic and accurate General English test,” she noted.

More than just a technical innovation, this digitalization step reflects ITS’s commitment to building an inclusive education system. This initiative aligns with the 9th point of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) regarding Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure. Through the digitalization of language learning and application-based testing systems, this educational innovation supports the creation of a modern educational ecosystem.
Moving forward, GLC ITS is committed to continuously developing the use of technology to provide effective learning and evaluation experiences. Through this sustainable step, ITS is expected not only to provide convenient facilities but also to build a strong foundation of language competency for students on the global stage. (*)
