International Undergraduate Program (IUP)

The International Undergraduate Program (also known as IUP) is a bachelor program that implements English as the language of instruction. The program offers the regular undergraduate curriculum and provides opportunities for students to take part in international exposure activities, in one or more of the following activities:

  1. Internship in an international or multinational company
  2. Student exchange
  3. Summer/short course
  4. Joint Degree

Learning Environment

Since 1965, Department of Architecture ITS commits to provide high quality architectural education by exploring and encouraging design ability of thinking, doing and communicating design based on an architectural research approach in order to accomplish the best academic achievement on a local, national as well as international level.

By focusing on exploration and development body of knowledge as well as architectural ideas based on research and locality, students will be challenged to discover local potencies through research and illustrate it as unique architectural ideas, innovative and contribute to solve architectural problems.

Department of Architecture expects the graduates to sustain their contribution and existence in architectural practice. The exploration of local values amplifies the characteristics of our graduates.

Professional Qualification

Successful completion of our full four-year undergraduate program will be honoured Bachelor of Architecture (S.Ars.). They are able to pursue career in architecture field as well as non-architectural field. They are also able to continue their academic to postgraduate study (master’s degree) and professional program (PPArs).

Careers After Graduation

Our graduates not only work for an architecture consultant but also work in other related field such as building construction, construction management, architecture visualiser, Agency for Public Works bureaucrats, entrepreneur in architecture and other field.

Course Outline

Explore your design skill in our studio – where you have your own dedicated design space – two days a week, during which you’re set projects that require you to produce models and drawings to communicate your ideas. You’re supervised on studio work in individual tutorials and group critical reviews, which encourage you to explore different approaches and develop essential design skills. Lectures, classes and visits to completed buildings or buildings under construction/restoration cover the rest of the curriculum. In our department, a year consists of two semester. Each semester consist of 16 academic weeks.

The Bachelor’s Degree Program in Architecture is A-Accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) for the 2021–2026 period.

Graduate Learning Outcomes (GLO)

The expected learning outcomes to be achieved by each graduate of the study program are as follows:

  1. Demonstrate devotion to the One Almighty God, uphold religiosity, and respect human values.

  2. Contribute to environmental sustainability, community quality, nationhood, citizenship, and civilization based on the rule of law and the fundamental principles of the Indonesian nation (Pancasila).

  3. Uphold academic ethics, norms, and values, and demonstrate responsibility, independence, perseverance, entrepreneurial spirit, and teamwork skills.

  4. Apply scientific, creative, and design thinking, and conduct original architectural studies and designs in the form of design projects and/or research reports.

  5. Demonstrate high-quality and measurable work, conduct self-evaluation and supervision, and build professional networks at national and international levels.

  6. Master theoretical concepts of architecture, architectural design, building structures, systems, and services.

  7. Master architectural design principles and design methodologies.

  8. Master principles of building science and technology, landscape architecture, urban planning and design, housing and settlements, and ecology with reference to local contexts.

  9. Master architectural communication and presentation techniques.

  10. Develop architectural design concepts that integrate environmental and local behavioral studies, technical aspects, and architectural values.

  11. Independently design research-based architecture and produce creative, contextual, and theoretically valid architectural works.

  12. Communicate architectural ideas and designs effectively through oral presentations, written works, architectural outputs, and manual and digital graphic models.

  13. Apply design knowledge within the scope of building construction and supervision.
