The Undergraduate Actuarial Science Study Program is one of the study programs within FSAD that attracts high-quality prospective students. To produce highly qualified graduates, a strong educational process is essential. The following initiatives have been undertaken by the Undergraduate Actuarial Science Study Program to improve the quality of its graduates:

  • developing a new competency-based curriculum with reference to the National Standards of the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education and the Society of Actuaries of Indonesia (PAI);
  • collaborating with the University of Waterloo, Canada, in education through curriculum benchmarking, sit-in programmes, student exchanges, and joint research;
  • offering cooperative education or work-placement programmes;
  • providing internships at insurance companies and government institutions;
  • conducting staff exchanges to enhance the academic environment;
  • increasing alumni involvement in the development of the study program;
  • implementing a student-centred learning model;
  • organising field lectures;
  • providing guest lectures;
  • organising study excursions;
  • expanding and improving the quality of facilities and infrastructure.

Academic administrative services are also continuously improved to accelerate administrative processes and support students’ needs. The learning process is monitored regularly, including student attendance, which is reviewed every 4 weeks. At the end of each semester, this monitoring helps determine which students are eligible to take examinations and which courses meet the requirements for examination. These efforts are intended to increase the number of graduates receiving “with honours” distinction in the Undergraduate Actuarial Science Study Program.
