Interdisciplinary Research

Administrative Support for Interdisciplinary Research

Administrative support for research activities at ITS is centrally coordinated through the Directorate of Research and Community Service (DRPM). The directorate manages internally funded research programs, including the annual call for proposals, proposal evaluation, funding allocation, contract preparation, and monitoring and evaluation of funded projects. DRPM also oversees the administrative processing of research fund disbursement in accordance with ITS’ financial procedures.

Beyond internal funding, DRPM facilitates interdisciplinary research collaborations with external partners, including national funding agencies such as the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology and the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), as well as industry and international institutions. In these collaborations, DRPM manages institutional agreements and coordinates administrative processes for joint research implementation.

ITS complements this support with structured capacity-building initiatives. In collaboration with the Vice Rector for Research, Innovation, Cooperation, and Alumni & Vice Rector for Human Resources, Organization, and Information System Technology, DRPM organizes mentoring programs to enhance faculty capacity in academic writing and international publication, particularly for interdisciplinary research. Mentoring guidelines are also disseminated to faculty deans to support implementation at the faculty level.

Interdisciplinary research is also supported structurally through 12 study centers, which serve as coordination hubs for cross-disciplinary collaboration. These centers facilitate administrative coordination, knowledge exchange, and access to shared research resources across faculties.

In addition, ITS supports research management capacity through institutional programs such as research leadership and management training, which equip researchers with competencies in research governance, ethics, intellectual property, and interdisciplinary collaboration. These efforts ensure that administrative and managerial support for interdisciplinary research remains effective and aligned with institutional priorities.
