Commencing the regional charity roadshow, PW IKA ITS East Java distributes aid to orphans and dhuafa at the Bangkalan Regency Hall as the program’s first milestone. This initiative reflects the enduring commitment of ITS alumni to fostering social impact and community welfare across the province.
Bangkalan— The East Java Regional Executive of the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember Alumni Association (PW IKA ITS) officially launched the “13th Annual Charity Program for 1,000 Orphans and Dhuafa 2026.” The opening ceremony was held with great solemnity at the Bangkalan Regency Hall on Saturday (Feb 28).
The event was attended by the leadership of the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), representatives from the IKA ITS Central Executive—represented by Hamdani Bantasyam and Budiono Sukses—and the senior figure of IKA ITS, Djuwono. Also in attendance were community figure Lukman Hakim, as well as ITS alumni who serve as strategic investors in the shipbuilding industry in Bangkalan, namely Anita and Fajar.
In his remarks, the Chairperson of the Organizing Committee, Fahmi Fahresi, expressed high appreciation to the Bangkalan Regency Government for their support in providing facilities and fostering synergy. Fahmi explained that selecting Bangkalan as the inaugural location is part of a structured distribution strategy for this year.
“Bangkalan serves as the first point for this year’s distribution. A total of 250 orphans and dhuafa received aid in Bangkalan, which will be followed by subsequent distributions in Sidoarjo and Gresik, culminating in Surabaya,” stated Fahmi.
The Executive Chairman of PW IKA ITS East Java, Yoke C. Katon, emphasized that the program aims to reach a total of 1,000 beneficiaries across all designated locations. During the occasion, Yoke also conveyed a message and greetings from the General Chair of PW IKA ITS East Java, Eri Cahyadi, regarding the continuity of this annual social initiative.
Through its consistent implementation over the past 13 years, this program is expected to strengthen the alumni contribution network for the broader community, while representing the academic community’s dedication at the regional level.
