ITS SURABAYA — In a decisive move to accelerate its internationalization trajectory, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) has officially appointed two prominent faculty members to undertake global research residencies through the 2025-2026 Sabbatical Leave Program. This strategic initiative, formally ratified on November 26, 2025 , underscores the university’s commitment to fostering high-impact scientific collaborations with world-renowned academic institutions. By integrating these scholars into premier global research environments, ITS aims to enhance its institutional recognition and contribute significantly to the advancement of science and technology on a global scale.
The Rector of ITS has officially designated the recipients of the Sabbatical Leave Program for the 2025-2026 academic period. This program is a strategic component of the Enhancing Quality Education for International University Impacts and Recognition (Equity) World Class University (WCU) project, which aims to strengthen the university’s global academic standing. By facilitating senior faculty members to engage in high-level international research, ITS continues to foster scientific advancement and institutional collaboration on a global scale.

Prof. Dra. Ratna Ediati, M.S., Ph.D. (Department of Chemistry) has been selected as an ITS delegate for the 2025-2026 Equity WCU Sabbatical Leave Program
Following a comprehensive selection process, two distinguished professors from the Faculty of Science and Data Analytics have been appointed to conduct their academic residencies at prestigious international partner institutions. Prof. Drs. Suminar Pratapa, M.Sc, Ph.D., from the Department of Physics, will be conducting research at the Department of Radiation Science and Technology (RST), TU Delft, Netherlands, in collaboration with Prof. Ekkes Bruck. Additionally, Prof. Dra. Ratna Ediati, M.S., Ph.D., from the Department of Chemistry, will be hosted by Prof. Philip R. Davies at the Department of Chemistry, Cardiff University, United Kingdom.
The implementation of this program is fully supported by the Equity World Class University (WCU) funding. This initiative reflects the commitment of ITS to enhancing research quality and international recognition through meaningful engagement with world-class academic peers. The selected awardees are expected to bring significant contributions to their respective fields and further elevate the university’s reputation in the international scientific community.
