In general, DCE’s office facilities are sufficient and supportive for the work. Every support staff has its own computer that is connected to the internet through line (LAN) or wireless internet connection. Therefore, students and staff are able to fully exploit information technology for teaching, research and development, services and administration. In addition, each room is equipped with a telephone PABX that facilitate coordination among the lecturers and support staff. The department has created an internet website (https://jtsits.wordpress.com/profil-jurusan-teknik-sipil). Fourteen hot-spots are available around the department and have been used extensively by the students and the academics in the campus. Information on scholarship, job opportunities, research position, invitation to seminars and conferences are made available in the announcement boards as well as at homepage of the department’s website.
As mentioned 2.10.1, DCE has one computer room specifically is CECC, with 15 computers available for the students. These computers also have internet connection. This room is also available for conducting teaching and learning activity, particularly training/workshop related to application of computer software. This computer room and network is managed by a DCE support staff. However, since nowadays students have their personal laptop/notebook, this room is available for limited use. Computer room service has been focussed more into the development of software related to civil engineering.
