Workshop Midea HVAC Solution for Hotel Application and Supporting Software
Surabaya, June 10, 2025 The Department of Industrial Mechanical Engineering has once again established a strategic collaboration with Midea Building Technologies (MBT). The collaboration is titled “Midea Goes to Campus: HVAC Solution for Hotel Application and Supporting Software”. The event began with the screening of a profile video, various MBT superior products, and documentation of the HVAC design competition that had been held previously. After that, the MC officially opened the event, followed by singing the song Indonesia Raya and the ITS Hymn. Speeches were delivered by the Dean of the ITS Vocational Faculty and representatives from Midea, marking the commitment of both parties to support vocational education based on industrial technology. An important moment in this event was the signing of a cooperation agreement between Midea and the ITS Department of Industrial Mechanical Engineering. This collaboration is expected to open up opportunities for joint research, curriculum development, and industrial internship programs for ITS students.
The event continued with a main seminar entitled “Midea HVAC Solution for Hotel Application” delivered by the MBT team. This session discussed the latest trends, technical solutions, and innovations in cooling and ventilation systems that are suitable for the needs of the hotel industry. The discussion became more interesting with a Q&A session and ice breaker that encouraged active participation from the students. The final session of the seminar focused on the use of technical software such as Cooling Load Calculation, Selection VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow), and Controller Box Simulation. The event was closed with a group photo session, screening of a jargon video, and a thank you from the MC.
Through this activity, Midea not only introduced the latest products and technologies, but also actively contributed to building a vocational education ecosystem that is adaptive and relevant to the needs of today’s industry.
