Guest Lecture DTMI
Surabaya, 11 November 2024 – Department of Industrial Mechanical Engineering, Vocational Faculty, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) Surabaya held a guest lecture entitled “Future-Ready Engineer: Automation 4.0 Technology Revolution” on Monday, 11 November 2024. This activity aims to provide the latest insights to students about the development of automation technology in the Industry 4.0 era and how students can prepare themselves to become engineers who are ready to face future challenges.
In this event, present as the main resource person, Saiful Abidin S.T from PT. Industrial Robotic Automation Surabaya. which discusses key trends in automation, such as artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and robotics. With high enthusiasm, DTMI students and ITS Vocational Faculty lecturers also discussed the application of these technologies in various industrial sectors.
The event was opened by Ir. Suhariyanto, M.Sc. as Secretary of the Department of Industrial Mechanical Engineering. This event was also equipped with a very interactive question and answer session, where students could dig deeper into the application of automation technology in various industrial sectors, such as manufacturing, energy, transportation and health. Several students also shared their enthusiasm about career prospects in the field of automation and technology, as well as the importance of technical competencies that can support their readiness in the world of work.
It is hoped that this guest lecture will provide inspiration and motivation for students to prepare themselves to face the demands of a future industry that is increasingly dependent on automation technology. The ITS Vocational Faculty is committed to continuing to organize various activities that are relevant to the latest technological developments, in order to produce a generation of engineers who are superior and ready to compete in the global market.
This event closed with a group photo session and the opportunity for students to discuss further with the resource persons regarding the topics discussed.
