A study excursion organized by the Manufacturing Systems Laboratory, Department of Systems and Industrial Engineering, Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (DTSI ITS), was officially held as a learning activity to broaden knowledge regarding the application of manufacturing systems and operational management in the energy industry. This activity aims to provide a concrete illustration of how company strategies are designed and executed effectively to support operational performance. Through this study tour, participants are expected to gain a comprehensive understanding of industry practices relevant to the development of modern manufacturing systems.
The study excursion took place on Thursday, October 30, 2025, with the purpose of visiting PT IHI Power Service Indonesia. During this tour, members of the Manufacturing Systems Laboratory, consisting of lecturers and laboratory assistants, studied various strategic aspects of the company. Topics discussed included business strategy and its implementation, business opportunities in the aero-engine and space sectors, and productivity improvement efforts implemented by PT IHI Power Service Indonesia to support the company’s competitiveness.
In addition, participants gained insight into the implementation of maintenance and reliability engineering and the quality control system implemented by PT IHI Power Service Indonesia. The presentations illustrated the importance of system reliability, quality control, and continuous improvement in industrial operations. Through this activity, it is hoped that participants can adopt industry best practices as a reference in developing learning and activities in the Manufacturing Systems Laboratory, so as to be able to produce human resources who are ready to face future industrial challenges.
