The Manufacturing Systems Laboratory once again held a laboratory assistant recruitment event as a first step in preparing for various academic activities and laboratory development in the coming semester. On this occasion, 15 new laboratory assistants officially joined the Manufacturing Systems Laboratory family. The presence of these new assistants is expected to strengthen the implementation of practicum activities, research, community service, and various strategic laboratory programs oriented towards the development of industrial engineering science, particularly in the field of manufacturing systems.

The activity began with remarks from Prof. Ir. Maria Anityasari, S.T., M.E., Ph.D., IPU., ASEAN Eng. as the Head of the Manufacturing Systems Laboratory. In her remarks, she expressed her appreciation to all students who had successfully passed the selection process and emphasized that being a laboratory assistant is not just about carrying out academic duties, but also an opportunity to develop professional competence, leadership, teamwork skills, and integrity as a prospective engineer. She also provided motivation so that all new assistants can continue to learn, innovate, and provide the best contribution to the advancement of the Manufacturing Systems Laboratory.

In this recruitment process, the Manufacturing Systems Laboratory implemented two contract schemes as a form of development tailored to the results of the selection evaluation. Assistants on the green list received full contracts for three semesters, demonstrating the laboratory’s confidence in their readiness to undertake various long-term responsibilities. Meanwhile, assistants on the red list were given partial contracts for one semester, aiming to provide an opportunity to demonstrate competency and performance development before further evaluation in the following period. This scheme is expected to foster a professional work culture while providing space for each assistant to continuously improve their quality.

In addition to the assistant recruitment agenda, the activity also continued with a coordination meeting that discussed various strategic work programs of the Manufacturing Systems Laboratory for the upcoming semester. The discussion included preparations for the implementation of practical courses, planning various laboratory projects, preparations for the implementation of MANSYS X as one of the laboratory’s major annual agendas, as well as the preparation of a short program plan that will become a forum for competency development for the assistants. Through this coordination meeting, all laboratory members obtained a clearer picture of the targets, division of roles, and the direction of program development that will be carried out collaboratively throughout the semester.

The entire series of activities proceeded smoothly and concluded after the entire agenda was presented and discussed together. The momentum of the acceptance of this new assistant is expected to be the beginning of the formation of a solid, adaptive team capable of actively contributing to supporting academic activities and the development of the Manufacturing Systems Laboratory. With a spirit of collaboration and a commitment to continuous innovation, the entire Manufacturing Systems Laboratory family is optimistic about being able to present various programs that will have a positive impact on students, the institution, and the industrial world in the coming semester.
