From Campus to Community: ITS SIP 2026 Encourages Students to Create Real Impact

The Social Innovation Project (SIP) 2026 is a collaborative program that brings together international and Indonesian students in Surabaya to develop community-based social innovation solutions. This program encourages cross-cultural collaboration through field trips, group discussions, and co-creation activities focused on strategic issues such as optimizing public spaces, waste management, empowering MSMEs, engaging youth, and improving accessibility for people with disabilities. Using a participatory approach, participants are directly involved in the process of identifying problems and formulating solutions together with the local community.

The SIP 2026 series began with an online meeting on April 1, 2026, and continued with on-site activities in Surabaya, including introductory lectures, site visits, intensive group work with academic mentoring, and presentations of innovation results. The program also features cultural trips and social interactions to strengthen international networks and cross-cultural understanding. Through an integrative experience that combines academic aspects, social impact, and global exposure, SIP 2026 serves as a strategic platform for students to hone their collaborative skills and contribute to sustainable solutions aligned with the SDGs.
