A study excursion organized by the Manufacturing Systems Laboratory, Department of Systems and Industrial Engineering, Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (DTSI ITS), was officially held as a learning activity to broaden knowledge of operational practices and business systems in the energy industry. This activity aimed to provide a first-hand look at how multinational companies manage business processes, services, and corporate values to support operational sustainability. Through this study excursion, participants were expected to be able to connect the concepts of manufacturing systems and industrial management with real-world implementation in the industrial world.
The study excursion took place on Monday, June 2, 2025, with the purpose of visiting PT Haliburton. During this study excursion, members of the Manufacturing Systems Laboratory, consisting of lecturers and laboratory assistants, studied various strategic aspects of the company. The learning focus included PT Haliburton’s core business processes, the range of services provided, its commitment to sustainable production, and an understanding of the core values that underpin the company’s work culture.
In addition, participants gained insight into the implementation of PT Haliburton’s lifecycle services maintenance system as part of its long-term service strategy. The presentation provided an understanding of the importance of integrating business processes, maintenance, and company values in maintaining operational reliability and performance. Therefore, this comparative study is a strategic step in supporting the development of learning and improving the quality of human resources in the fields of manufacturing systems and industrial management.
