An academic visit by the University of Indonesia to the Manufacturing Systems Laboratory, Department of Systems and Industrial Engineering, Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (DTSI ITS), was officially held as a form of exchange of knowledge between educational institutions. This activity aimed to strengthen institutional relationships and broaden understanding of learning system management in industrial engineering. This visit was expected to foster constructive discussions aimed at improving the quality of manufacturing education and learning.
The visit took place on Thursday, December 4, 2025, with the main agenda being a discussion on the learning system at DTSI ITS, including the implementation of practicums and the applied teaching methods. In addition to the discussion session, the delegation from the University of Indonesia also visited the Manufacturing Systems Laboratory at DTSI ITS. During this opportunity, participants directly observed the implementation of Toyota Production System (TPS) practicums and the learning process that supports an understanding of manufacturing system concepts in practice.
This visit was expected to foster an exchange of views and experiences that can inform the evaluation and development of learning systems at each institution. In addition to strengthening academic networks, this activity also encouraged ongoing collaboration in the development of industrial engineering education. Thus, this visit is a strategic step in supporting the improvement of learning quality and the relevance of higher education to industry needs.
