The Manufacturing Systems Guest Lecture, hosted by the Manufacturing Systems Laboratory, Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS), was officially held as part of a learning program aimed at broadening students’ understanding of modern manufacturing concepts and practices. This event, partnered with BDO Indonesia as an industry partner, provided students with the opportunity to understand the role of consultants in developing and improving manufacturing system performance. This guest lecture is expected to foster synergy between academia and industry in addressing the challenges of dynamic manufacturing.
The guest lecture took place on Saturday, November 22, 2025, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time, and featured a professional speaker, Mr. Tonny Leonard. During the presentation, the speaker presented material on the topic of Agile Manufacturing, covering the basic understanding, concepts, and approaches used by BDO Indonesia in advising clients on implementing Agile Manufacturing. He also explained the various benefits of implementing Agile Manufacturing in increasing the flexibility, responsiveness, and competitiveness of manufacturing companies.
This guest lecture is expected to provide students with a more practical understanding of the application of Agile Manufacturing concepts in the industrial world. In addition to providing new perspectives for students, this activity is also expected to strengthen the relationship between the ITS Department of Systems and Industrial Engineering and industry, particularly those operating in the manufacturing sector. Therefore, this guest lecture is a strategic step in supporting the development of student competencies aligned with current and future industry needs.
