Surabaya – Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) will host the 7th Sustainability and Resilience of Coastal Management (SRCM) conference on 26 November 2026. The event is a hybrid conference, so participants can attend in Surabaya or join online from anywhere in the world.

As an archipelagic nation, Indonesia’s future is closely tied to the health of its coastlines, which face growing pressure from pollution, ecosystem degradation, climate change, and disaster risk. SRCM brings together researchers, academics, practitioners, and policy makers to share knowledge and explore approaches toward more sustainable and resilient coastal communities.

58 abstracts accepted

The organizers announced the list of accepted abstracts on 19 October, after extending the submission deadline to 16 October. The 58 accepted works span the conference’s focus areas, from IoT-based earthquake and flood early warning systems and tidal flood barriers for subsiding northern Java coasts, to mangrove bird communities, coastal wave monitoring, and sustainable construction in marine environments.

Distinguished keynote speakers

The program features Prof. Yifeng Yang (South China University of Technology), Prof. Iswandi Imran (Institut Teknologi Bandung), Dr. Sue Molloy (Dalhousie University, Canada), Dr. Youngrong Kim (Nanyang Technological University, Singapore), and Prof. Lalu Muhamad Jaelani (ITS).

Scopus-indexed publication

Papers will be published in E3S Web of Conferences, a Scopus-indexed proceedings series. SRCM has published its proceedings since the first edition in 2020.

What happens next

Authors of accepted abstracts must submit their initial full papers by 5 November. The conference takes place on 26 November, followed by revisions and camera-ready submission in January 2027.

The conference is jointly organized by ITS’s Directorate of Research and Community Service (DRPM) together with the Center for Disaster Mitigation and Climate Change Research, the Center for Sustainable Infrastructure and Environment, and the Center for Marine-Earth Science and Technology Research.
