The Graduate Program in Technology Management proudly presents a new doctoral program with a slightly different orientation compared to conventional doctoral programs. The Doctor of Technology Management program follows the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) model offered by many leading universities abroad. The focus is research in specific areas highly relevant to complex real-world problems, addressed using systematic and academically proven methodologies. Applicants may come from both professional and academic backgrounds with relevant work experience.

The Doctoral Program in Technology Management combines coursework, research, and publication. As shown in the diagram, there are three foundation courses, two contextual courses, and the rest are research activities. Research is the program’s priority, focusing on issues highly relevant to practice, addressing complex problems with multidisciplinary perspectives and systematic methodology. While academic contributions are still expected, this doctoral program emphasizes practical problem-solving.
Courses are held on Saturdays. Some can be delivered in block format. Depending on research needs, students may be recommended to take additional courses to support their dissertation. Beyond lectures, students must conduct research, write a dissertation, and prepare papers for conferences or academic journals.

Prospective students must contact potential supervisors and obtain approval for dissertation supervision. The approval form can be downloaded here.
The main supervisor must hold the position of Associate Professor or Professor and have a proven publication record in international journals in the last five years. Each doctoral student will be guided by two or three supervisors, ideally from at least two different disciplines.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:
– Hold a Master’s degree with a minimum GPA of 3.00 from an accredited university (minimum accreditation B). – Provide two recommendation letters (from employer or former lecturers) submitted through the smits.its.ac.id system. – TOEFL score of at least 500. – Academic Potential Test (TPKA) with a minimum score of 500 (available at ITS Graduate School). – Obtain approval from a prospective supervisor (form available for download). – Submit a Dissertation Proposal Outline approved by the prospective supervisor (format available for download). – Complete the online registration form.

– Complete at least 42 credits, consisting of 12 credits of coursework and 30 credits of dissertation, with a minimum GPA of 3.0. – Publish at least one article in an international journal. – Present at least one paper at an international conference. – Fulfill other requirements as set by the ITS Graduate School.
