Synergy to Strengthen the Resilience and Revival of the Javanese Sharia Economy

[Surabaya, September 13, 2024] – The 2024 Java Regional Sharia Economic Festival (FESYAR) and the kick off of the 2024 Java Sharia Festival Featured Program with the theme “Synergy to Strengthen the Resilience and Revival of the Javanese Sharia Economy”, have been officially opened by the Acting Governor of East Java Adhy Karyono in the courtyard of the Al Akbar National Mosque in Surabaya, Friday (13/9/2024).

The opening was marked by the pressing of the Holo Fan. Also opening the event were Member of Commission XI of the Indonesian House of Representatives Indah Kurniawati, Senior Deputy Governor of BI Destry Damayanti and Head of the East Java BI Representative Office Erwin Gunawan. This activity was enlivened by various superior booths from various regions. In addition to East Java, there were also those from West Java, Central Java, DKI Jakarta, Banten and DI Yogyakarta.

One of the flagship programs launched is Halal Waypoints and Verified Eateries (HalalWave) which was initiated by two lecturers from the Information Systems Department (DSI) of the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) Prof. Nur Aini Rakhmawati MScEng PhD and Amalia Utamima SKom MBA PhD and supported by Bank Indonesia (BI) and the Halal Product Guarantee Agency (BPJPH).

HalalWave was launched to complement the existing search system at the Halal Product Guarantee Agency (BPJPH). Now, HalalWave can be accessed by the wider community via the page https://wave.halal.go.id/.

Fadlilatul Taufany ST Ph.D as the Director of the Directorate of Research and Community Service (DRPM) ITS said that the launch of this platform received a positive response from various parties, especially halal culinary business actors. The hope is that HalalWave will not only be a halal culinary search platform, but also a strategic step to support the growth of the sharia economy in Indonesia
