Surabaya – The AussieBanget Corner team from the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) Library won the Project Funding Award at the AussieBanget Mates Muster 2026 event. The award was presented in the “Best Project Idea – 1 Million for a Million Impacts” category, in recognition of a project idea deemed to have the potential to make a positive impact.
The team consists of six ITS students from various degree programs: Muhammad Ahnaf Naufal (Naval Systems Program), Wangkawa Adinulana Athallah Indica (Business Statistics Program), Israil (Ph.D. Program in Physics), Nazira Vilonia Wintoro (Physics Program), Samson Lumban Toruan (Master’s Program in Civil Engineering), and Fathin Nafisa (Ph.D. Program in Statistics). This diversity of academic backgrounds is part of the students’ interdisciplinary involvement in developing project ideas.
The AussieBanget Mates Muster 2026 event will be held from October 30 to November 1, 2026, in Malang, East Java. Featuring an Australian-style glamping adventure, this three-day event will be attended by student delegations and volunteers from various AussieBanget Corners at partner universities. This event serves as a platform for participants to meet, build networks, exchange experiences, and strengthen inter-campus collaboration.
The ITS Library team’s participation in this event aligns with the launch of the AussieBanget Corner, which was officially opened at the ITS Library on June 11, 2026, through a collaboration with the Australian Consulate General in Surabaya. Located on the 3rd floor of the ITS Library, this facility provides access to information about Australia—ranging from education and culture to study opportunities. It is hoped that this initiative will broaden ITS students’ international perspectives and open up opportunities for collaboration.
Winning the Project Funding Award is both a proud achievement and an opportunity for the AussieBanget Corner team to develop their project idea into an initiative that provides broader benefits. This achievement also reinforces the ITS Library’s commitment to supporting literacy, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the development of international networks through various programs and partnerships.
