ITS Library Welcomes a Visit from SMPIT Al-Ibrah Gresik as Part of an EduTrip

Surabaya – The library at the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) hosted an EduTrip visit from SMPIT Al-Ibrah Gresik on Tuesday (Oct. 13). The event was attended by 17 students and 2 accompanying teachers from SMPIT Al-Ibrah Gresik, who were guided by 3 ITS librarians.

The purpose of this visit is to introduce students to the university library environment, while also broadening their understanding of the services, facilities, and various information resources available to support their learning.

The event began with a welcome reception in the meeting room and an introduction to the various services and facilities at the ITS Library. Next, the students took a library tour, visiting the 5th, 3rd, and 1st floors. A visit to the 4th floor was not possible because that area is currently undergoing renovations.

The 5th floor was one of the areas that caught the students’ attention. The collection of the latest novels kept them coming back for more as they browsed through the available reading materials. In addition, the ABC Corner was a special attraction for students eager to take photos together. Their excitement continued as they visited the Migas Corner—particularly the immersive room which offered a unique experience for exploring the library. Several students also actively asked questions throughout the event.

Through this EduTrip visit, the ITS Library hopes to introduce the library as a comfortable, interactive, and inspiring learning space, while also fostering a love of reading and a passion for literacy from an early age.
