ITS Library Literacy Classes Resume to Support the Learning and Research Needs of the Academic Community

Surabaya, September 14, 2026 — The Library of the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) has once again launched the ITS Library Literacy Class for the odd semester of the 2026/2027 academic year. The program, which officially reopened on Monday (September 14), is part of the ITS Library’s efforts to support the learning and research needs of the ITS academic community and to enhance their information literacy skills.

The ITS Library Literacy Classes are organized by the ITS Library and feature ITS librarians as instructors. This program is open to members of the academic community who need training on topics ranging from library use and scientific information sources to reference management and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to support academic activities.

There are four types of classes offered in this program: Library Instruction, E-Resources Class, Reference Manager Class, and AI Class. Library Instruction provides an introduction to the library, including its facilities and available services. Meanwhile, the E-Resources Class covers the various electronic resources subscribed to by ITS, as well as how to access and use them to support academic and research activities.

Next, the Reference Manager Class provides training on the use of reference management software to help users manage their sources, create citations, and compile a bibliography. The AI Class, meanwhile, covers the various AI services subscribed to by ITS, how to access them, and how to use them effectively to support academic activities.

Classes are held based on the needs and requests of the instructors teaching the courses. Instructors may choose between two types of classes to offer students and then submit a request using the provided form. Through this form, the instructor may also specify the agreed-upon schedule and location for the class. Classes may be held at the ITS Library or in the respective departments.

The ITS Library Literacy Program is held regularly every semester. With the program’s relaunch this odd-numbered semester, the ITS Library hopes that more members of the academic community will become familiar with and make the most of the various facilities, services, and information resources available.

Through its Library Literacy Classes, the ITS Library remains committed to serving not only as a provider of information resources, but also as a partner in learning and research for the ITS academic community.
