The framework of the development of IPTEK needed human resources (SDM) who are qualified so that able to develop, master and utilize IPTEK. The development of quality human resources cannot be separated from the development of mathematics. Since 2004, Magister Program of Mathematics trusted by DIKMENJUR to improve the ability of vocational high school teachers and vocational teachers through the magister program of Mathematics.

The Departement of Mathematics which is in the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) opens the postgraduate program of Magister Program of Mathematics starting from 2004/2005.

Supported by 19 qualified lecturers: 1 Professor, 4 doctors, and 14 masters. The supporting facilities available are as follows: Lecture room, 2 laboratories, Mathematics Studio, reading room with more than 2000 literature, international scientific journals, national scientific journals, including Internet connection, discussion room, and other facilities.

 

Purpose

 

Education of Magister Program of Mathematics aims to improve the level of knowledge and skills in mathematics and the implementation of Magister Graduate will have:

  • High integrity that responds to the change and progress of IPTEK.
  • Have the ability in the field of mathematics to participate in further education program
  • Have the ability to improve the profession and help solve the problem in the community with the research and development.
  • Able to contribute to solving problems that arise in the industry as professionals.

 

Field Of Interest

 

The Mathematics study program offers 2 fields of interest options:

 

  • MODELING AND COMPUTING, Able to bring technical or industrial problems and natural phenomena into the mathematical model and finish it in both analytic and numerical.
  • APPLIED ANALYSIS, Able to understand the problems that arise in mathematics and develop them to be applied to mathematics or other fields of science.

 

Academics Activities

 

Magister Program of mathematics conducted within 4 semesters (2 years), with the maximum time limit of 4 years. Credit expenses At least 40 credits, including theses according to the curriculum. The academic calendar of the first semester begins in early September, while second semester begins in early February and ends in June. Academic activities include lectures, assignments and self-study, laboratory activities, library studies, and play an active role in discussions and seminars.

Besides the supporting facilities of the computing center and ITS Library, there are also supporting facilities in the Department of Mathematics, including:
