Information Systems

In line with the concept of technopreneurship which was conceived by ITS as a prospectus model for its graduates, Information System FTIF also carries the concept of IT-preneurship where students are forged and trained to develop into entrepreneurs in the field of information technology. Therefore, from the very beginning, students at this departement has been encouraged to be trained to think creatively and independently and be able to show their talents and abilities. Projects aimed at students in various aspects (in the form of college assignments, final assignments, to various competitions and competitions in academic, on academic, research and entrepreneurship such as KKTM in the fields of Natural Sciences, Social Sciences and Education which are projected to be able to penetrate national and international events such as PKM-PKMT Dikti, PIMNAS, gemasTIK, to POMDA) all provide opportunities for students to develop.

A comprehensive assistance program has been prepared by Information System in order to obtain maximum results and achievements that students want to achieve. Students are educated to find solutions to problem solving together in a group. Students are also trained to provide better analytical skills and teamwork and to write reports and papers. Everything is focused on efforts to achieve maximum performance as a joint work of the entire academic community.

 

Purpose

 

The purpose of organizing the Information System Master Program is to begin by identifying the objectives of the faculty that are relevant to the main tasks and functions of the department, paying attention to local issues by creating a department SWOT that can describe the current state of the department, and finally, adding the objectives of the SWOT generation results with the result of identifying the objectives of the FTIf-ITS. Another goal is to produce technical masters who have mastery of knowledge, understanding and skills in the field of Information Systems. After completing the education program, students are expected to have strong and in-depth mastery of science and technology, be able to analyze and solve various engineering sciences issues integrally, and be able to present original new innovations in science and technology.

 

Academic Activities

 

The ITS Information System Study Program is held in 4 semesters (2 years), with a maximum limit of study period is 4 years. Minimum credit load of 36 credits, including a thesis in accordance with the curriculum. The academic calendar for the first semester starts in early September, while the second semester starts in early February and ends in June. Academic activities include lectures, assignments and independent learning, laboratory activities, literature study, and an active role in discussions and seminars.

Curriculum

 

Postgraduate students in Information Systems will be prepared as leaders and innovators in the global competition in the field of Information Systems. Other skills will also be given to this program such as critical and analytical thinking, leadership, communication, working in teams as well as being creative in developing and implementing information systems solutions.
