ITS Campus, ITS News — The strengthening of international cooperation is once again carried out by Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS). Through the Business Management (MB) Department of the Faculty of Creative Design and Digital Business (FDKBD), ITS officially launched the International Undergraduate Program (IUP) Double Degree (DD) program with the University of the West of England (UWE) Bristol, United Kingdom.
The Vice Dean of the ITS FDKBD, Muhammad Saiful Hakim SE MM PhD, emphasized that this momentum is a strategic achievement for the ITS MB Department. This is because, at ITS, only in MB has the number of DD partners reached ten for the first time. “Not only that, UWE Bristol also became our (MB, ed.) first partner from the United Kingdom,” expressed Saiful, his familiar nickname.

Responding to this appreciation, the Head of the ITS MB Department, Berto Mulia Wibawa SPi MM PhD, explained this collaboration as part of his department’s internationalization vision. Berto asserted that this program serves as proof of global recognition of the quality of the ITS MB Department’s curriculum. “This is validation that our curriculum meets global standards and is on par with international institutions such as UWE Bristol,” he asserted.
Not only beneficial for his department, Berto also explained the benefits of this collaboration for lecturers. According to him, this opens up collaboration space for lecturers in the form of joint research and other strategic academic programs. “We see this collaboration as a starting point to strengthen collaboration at the global level,” expressed the alumnus of Monash University, Australia.

Reinforcing Berto’s statement, the Head of International Recruitment and Student Recruitment Asia Pacific Region of UWE Bristol Kevin Dunn saw an alignment of industrial potential between Surabaya and Bristol. He mentioned the manufacturing, aerospace, and defense technology sectors as meeting points for both parties. “This similarity in potential makes the collaboration between ITS and UWE relevant,” claimed Kevin, who delivered it online.
In addition, Kevin stated that this collaboration provides direct benefits for students. Through the opportunity to study at ITS and UWE Bristol, students can improve their global competence and exposure to multicultural environments. “This is reinforced by the presence of the UWE Bristol international student community from 170 countries,” he added.

Unlike other IUP DD programs, the IUP DD program of these two institutions offers the advantage of flexibility in choosing a concentration. Students can choose five fields, namely Business Management, Business Management with Marketing, International Business Management, Business Management with Accounting and Finance, and Business and Human Resource Management.
With the launch of this IUP DD program with UWE Bristol, ITS further asserts its position as a university competing in the global arena. This is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) point 4 regarding Quality Education and point 17 regarding Partnerships for the Goals. (ITS Public Relations)
