Head of the ITS Sub-directorate of Admission and Promotion, Nani Kurniati ST MT PhD, showing the chart of applicants for SMITS ACE of 2025 at ITS
ITS Campus, ITS News — Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) officially announced the results of the ITS Academic and Competence Excellence Admission Selection (SMITS ACE) for the 2025/2026 academic year on Thursday (6/19) at 15:00 Western Indonesian Time, to be precise. A total of 3,349 out of 13,082 applicants have been declared to have passed the first wave of the SMITS ACE test.
Head of the ITS Sub-directorate of Admission and Promotion, Nani Kurniati ST MT PhD, stated that this year, the number of SMITS ACE applicants increased compared to the previous year. The increase was due to the addition of the number of study programs (prodi) available at ITS. “With the addition of new study programs at ITS, prospective students have more opportunities to explore their interests,” she explained.
The lecturer from the ITS Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering added that SMITS ACE consists of the Independent Partnership Selection and the General Independent Selection. In addition to SMITS ACE, ITS also provides SMITS Future Leader and Academic Talent (FLAT), which consists of the Independent Scholarship Selection and Independent Achievement pathways. “We are also opening registration for the International Undergraduate Program (IUP) up to the fourth wave,” revealed Nani.

Furthermore, Nani explained that the Bachelor’s Program in Industrial and Systems Engineering is ranked the highest as the most in-demand study program in the first wave of SMITS ACE. The second rank was held by the Bachelor’s Program in Medicine, followed by the third rank: the Applied Bachelor’s Program (D4 Study Program) in Engineering Technology for Civil Building Management and Maintenance. The fourth and fifth ranks were taken by the Bachelor’s Program in Mechanical Engineering and the Bachelor’s Program in Civil Engineering, respectively.
Unlike the previous year which was held offline, this year’s SMITS ACE was conducted online. This was done so that the selection test could reach more regions in Indonesia. “That way, all prospective participants get the same opportunity,” she said.
Next, participants who are declared to have passed must go through the re-registration stage which will end on Tuesday (6/24). Prospective students can verify documents and make payments online via the website sipmaba.its.ac.id in order to take part in the new student admission activities. “ITS also provides a service center to offer assistance during the re-registration process,” Nani explained.
Furthermore, Nani emphasized that this Independent Selection becomes an alternative option for prospective students who did not pass through the National Selection Based on Achievement (SNBP) and the National Selection Based on Test (SNBT). The Independent Selection plays an important role in the new student admission at ITS.
The ITS Admission Sub-directorate hopes to continue supporting the selection process in the years to come by improving the quality and quantity of applicants. This ITS Independent Selection is also one of the implementations of the 4th point of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to Quality Education. “This also proves ITS’s commitment in maintaining the quality of Indonesia’s education in the future,” Nani concluded firmly.
