ITS Campus, ITS News – Showing its contribution in the field of education, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) has redeveloped a platform called Sepuluh Nopember Personal Assistant with Intelligence (SENOPATI) for the implementation of the 2025 East Java Province New Student Admissions System (SPMB). The generative Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based platform created by ITS which is intended as a teaching assistant is now also being developed to facilitate access to information during the SPMB process.

Head of the Center for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technology Studies (KATD) from the Directorate of Research and Community Service (DRPM) ITS Prof. Dr. I Ketut Eddy Purnama ST MT said that SENOPATI acts as an AI assistant in this year’s SPMB. Its presence is designed to be a virtual companion that actively assists users during the selection process. “Because not only is it efficient, SENOPATI is also adaptive to information needs related to SPMB,” explained Ketut.

Furthermore, the Professor of the ITS Computer Engineering Department emphasized that the use of SENOPATI is not to replace the role of helpdesk officers , but to help ease their workload, especially during the peak of SPMB implementation. “SENOPATI can be accessed 24 hours a day, so people can use it anytime and from anywhere,” he said.

He added that SENOPATI is also available in multiple languages ​​so it is flexible in receiving various questions. Users can submit questions through the available chat column and SENOPATI will provide accurate information. “This makes it easier for parents to find out information related to SPMB,” explained the man from Denpasar, Bali.

In line with Ketut’s statement, SENOPATI Inventor Dr Dwi Sunaryono SKom MKom added that the information in SENOPATI has been designed according to the SPMB 2025 Technical Instructions (Juknis). Thus, the information search process can be carried out more effectively and optimally. Not only that, SENOPATI is also equipped with information about school locations, zoning quota status, and registration paths that are in accordance with the conditions of prospective students.

Furthermore, he explained that access to the SENOPATI service is relatively easy. Users only need to log in to the page https://spmbjatim.net/, and after that there will be a link that leads to the SENOPATI page. In addition, data security is also maintained because it is equipped with sophisticated data protection and can be adjusted to user preferences. “No need to worry about potential data leaks,” said the lecturer from the ITS Informatics Engineering Department .

It should be noted that SENOPATI is one of ITS’s breakthroughs in the field of generative AI to accompany students’ learning process by providing information and learning materials. The use of SENOPATI in the implementation of SPMB 2025 is an initial step in integrating artificial intelligence as a teaching assistant at every level of education, especially high school and vocational school. In the future, this AI will be developed in various strategic sectors, such as health and further education.

Finally, SENOPATI is one of the real forms of ITS’s commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) , especially in point 4, namely quality education.
