ITS Rector Prof Ir Bambang Pramujati ST MSc Eng PhD when directly reviewing the implementation of UTBK at the ITS Interior Design Department
ITS Campus, ITS News — The first day of the Computer-Based Written Exam (UTBK) for the 2025 National Selection Based on Tests (SNBT) at the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) was directly monitored by ITS Rector Prof. Ir. Bambang Pramujati ST MSc Eng PhD and his staff, Thursday (24/4). This step is part of ITS’s efforts to ensure the smooth and comfortable implementation of the state university entrance selection (PTN) in Indonesia.
The first review was the implementation of the exam held at the ITS Interior Design Department . During his review, Bambang expressed his appreciation for the readiness of the facilities and infrastructure available at the exam location. He hopes that participants can take the exam calmly and optimally. “The room is comfortable and well-arranged, it really supports the concentration of participants,” said Bambang.
Next, the review continued to the Directorate of Technology and Information Systems Development (DPTSI) located on the 4th floor of the ITS Research Center Building to directly monitor the network system and main server. Checks are carried out periodically at the information center and network points. “We want to ensure that the system (network) runs smoothly without technical problems,” added Bambang.

The Professor of Mechanical Engineering was seen actively conducting intensive checks at several crucial points, starting from the server control room to the information center panel. Not only reviewing, Bambang also discussed with the technical team regarding the data distribution flow and handling scenarios in the event of a system disruption. This shows ITS’s high concern for the technical aspects of the exam.
Checks are also carried out periodically during the exam session. This proactive attitude is a real form of ITS’s enthusiasm to ensure data security and participant comfort during the UTBK. All supporting elements of ITS also play an active role in maintaining the smooth implementation of UTBK, both technically and operationally.
This year, the implementation of UTBK at ITS was attended by 12,364 participants, an increase of 24 percent compared to the previous year. The implementation was carried out for seven days with two sessions per day in 44 rooms. A total of 17 departments were involved in supporting the technical implementation of the exam, so that ITS students were directed to study online to avoid campus congestion. Meanwhile, the other 22 study programs continued to run offline lectures as usual.

According to the Director of Technology Development and Information Systems (PTSI) ITS Bagus Jati Santoso SKom PhD, the technical team has been preparing the server since a month before the implementation of UTBK through a national trial. Bagus explained that the question download process is also continuously monitored periodically to avoid technical disruptions. “We keep the system stable during the exam so that participants can take the UTBK smoothly,” said Bagus.
In addition to technical readiness, ITS also provides supporting facilities such as transit rooms and canteens for participants. This effort is part of ITS’s commitment to providing maximum comfort during the exam. With the support of various work units, ITS strives to create a conducive atmosphere so that participants can take the exam with focus and calm.
The review of the implementation of UTBK is also part of ITS’s commitment to supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially point 4 on quality education. Through the implementation of inclusive, orderly exams supported by reliable technology, ITS plays an active role in ensuring fair and equal access to higher education for all prospective students.
