Dr Ir Amien Widodo MSi was appointed as Climate Hero 2023 by Tunas Hijau Indonesia
MKPI ITS – Appreciating a series of efforts to increase awareness of disasters and climate change, Tunas Hijau Indonesia gave an award to Dr. Ir Amien Widodo MSi as Climate Hero 2023. This appreciation was given by Tunas Hijau for Amien’s extraordinary contribution in educating disaster mitigation and climate change to the community during 2023.
Amien is a name that is certainly familiar in the world of research in the field of disaster and climate change. This senior researcher at the Research Center for Disaster Mitigation and Climate Change is a lecturer at the ITS Geophysical Engineering Department as well as an expert in the field of disaster. Not only focusing on research on campus, Amien also observed that community awareness and capacity in the context of disasters and climate change are crucial.
This commitment was followed up by Amien and Tunas Hijau Indonesia, one of which was carried out by organizing a disaster mitigation webinar series. In this webinar series, Amien and Tunas Hijau invited experts and experts in each type of disaster to be speakers and discuss disaster mitigation issues with the target audience of young people. A series of other contributions also helped strengthen Amien to be lined up as Climate Hero 2023 by Tunas Hijau Indonesia.
