Surabaya, July 10, 2026 – The Center for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technology (KATD) of Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) is participating in an international collaboration to develop artificial intelligence (AI) based digital healthcare services. This collaboration was realized through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Korpri Pura Raharja Hospital and Catholic Kwandong University (CKU) International St. Mary’s Hospital, South Korea. The event was attended and signed by Prof. Dr. Ir. Adhi Dharma Wibawa, S.T., M.T., Head of the KATD, representing the partner institution.
This collaboration is a strategic step in driving the transformation of healthcare services towards a more modern, adaptive, and digitally based system. In addition to involving healthcare institutions from Indonesia and South Korea, this program is also supported by the Korea Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI) along with technology companies Waycen and Meninblox.
In this collaboration, KATD acts as an academic partner supporting the application of artificial intelligence to hospital diagnostic and management systems. KATD’s expertise in artificial intelligence, data analysis, and digital transformation is expected to contribute to the development of solutions that can improve healthcare efficiency and support data-driven clinical decision-making.
For KATD, this collaboration represents a concrete implementation of the study center’s commitment to expanding multidisciplinary collaboration, particularly in the field of AI for Healthcare. Through the development of AI-based diagnostic systems, medical data analysis, and the digitization of hospital service processes, KATD continues to encourage the use of artificial intelligence to generate innovations that have a direct impact on society.
In addition to supporting technology implementation, this international collaboration also opens opportunities for joint research activities, knowledge exchange, human resource development, and the implementation of digital health technologies aligned with global developments.
Moving forward, KATD is committed to continuing to strengthen its collaborative network with various national and international institutions to accelerate the development of research and innovation in the field of artificial intelligence, particularly in supporting the digital transformation of the healthcare sector.
