Surabaya, IT Journalistic — The Department of Information Technology (DTI), Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), welcomed an academic visit (Lab Visit) from Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL), Malaysia, on Wednesday (18/12). The on-site activity was held at the Security and System Confidentiality Laboratory (KCKS) of DTI ITS and was attended by 15 students along with two representatives from the International Office (IO) of UniKL, namely Muhammad Fikri Haniff Bin Mohd Zahir as an IO UniKL intern and Nur Nazuha as an IO UniKL staff member.
The visit began with the arrival of participants, who were then guided to Room 701 of the DTI ITS building. A warm and enthusiastic atmosphere was evident from the outset, reflecting the spirit of international collaboration between the two institutions in the field of information technology.
The event was officially opened by the Master of Ceremony (MC). This was followed by a welcoming address from the Head of the Department of Information Technology ITS, Dr. Tech. Ir. Raden Venantius Hari Ginardi, M.Sc., who extended his greetings to the UniKL delegation. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of cross-border knowledge exchange as an effort to enhance the quality of education and research in the global era.
During the introductory session, the Head of the Department presented an overview of the Department of Information Technology ITS, covering its curriculum, areas of expertise, and research focus. He also explained the role of DTI ITS in technological development, particularly in the fields of cybersecurity, intelligent systems, and software engineering.

The activity continued with an introduction to the KCKS Laboratory by the lab administrators, Kevin Anugerah Faza and Hazwan Adhikara Nasution. In this session, participants were introduced to the laboratory facilities, practical support equipment, and various research topics currently being developed, such as cybersecurity, digital forensics, and information system security.
The participants also watched several final project (Tugas Akhir) videos by DTI ITS students, showcasing research outcomes and innovations in cybersecurity and information technology.

The visit concluded with a guided lab tour led by the KCKS lab administrators. Participants were invited to observe hands-on practical activities, hardware facilities, and the working environment of students within the laboratory.
Through this Lab Visit activity, DTI ITS and UniKL not only strengthened academic relations but also opened opportunities for further collaboration in research, student exchange, and curriculum development. This activity aligns with SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure.
