Madiun, IT Journalistic — The Department of Information Technology, Faculty of Electrical and Intelligent Informatics Technology (FTEIC) at Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS), has once again demonstrated its tangible contribution to community service (Abmas). This time, ITS organized a training on the utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for teachers at MAN 1 Madiun on Thursday (2/10).
Titled “Practical Training on Leveraging AI for Madrasah Teachers,” the event aimed to equip educators with the skills to develop modern technology-based teaching materials and learning evaluations. Through this training, teachers are expected to become more adaptive to digital advancements and capable of integrating AI into their teaching and learning activities.

The event opened with a warm welcome from the school’s principal, Drs. Basuki Rachmat, M.Pd, and was also attended by Drs. Ghulam Zamroni, M.Sc, the principal of MAN 2 Madiun. This was followed by presentations from the ITS team of lecturers and students. One of the main highlights was a session on effective ChatGPT prompting, delivered by a team of Information Technology students: Agnes Zenobia Griselda Petrina, Farida Qurrotu A’yuna, Syela Zeruya Tandi Lalong, and Rama Owarianto.
In this session, the students introduced the R-K-A-P (Role, Context, Action, Parameter) method, a framework designed to help teachers formulate clear and structured commands for AI. The goal is to ensure that the output generated by the AI, such as teaching materials or evaluation questions, is more relevant and accurate to their needs.
Dr. Henning Titi Ciptaningtyas, S.Kom, M.Kom., emphasized the importance of this training as part of the university’s three core missions. “Teachers are the spearhead of education. By leveraging AI, they are not only assisted in creating materials but can also deliver learning experiences that are more relevant, creative, and enjoyable for students,” she stated.
Furthermore, the training included a hands-on session. The teachers applied the R-K-A-P method they had learned to generate learning content, which was then implemented on interactive platforms like Wayground to create adaptive learning paths and Wordwall for gamified quizzes. Under the guidance of the ITS team, the participants successfully developed syllabi, interactive media, and even learning outcome analyses on the spot.

This program aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure). By equipping madrasah teachers with AI skills, ITS hopes to make learning at MAN 1 Madiun more innovative and capable of producing a generation that excels in the digital era.
