This program was designed to build teacher capacity in utilizing digital technology, particularly Artificial Intelligence (AI), in the classroom learning process. The training sessions focused on the practical use of ChatGPT, Wayground, and WordWall as interactive media to boost student participation and learning motivation.
In this program, DTI ITS students also played an active role as presenters. This training is a response to the challenges of education in the digital age, where teachers are expected to be more adaptive, innovative, and creative in integrating technology into teaching and learning activities. With guidance from ITS lecturers and students, it is expected that teacher competencies will improve continuously and have a direct impact on classroom learning quality.
Furthermore, this program serves not only as training but also as a platform for collaboration between higher education and primary schools. Through this synergy, ITS seeks to expand the role of academia in community empowerment and strengthen the ecosystem of technology-based education.
Aligned with the spirit of sustainable development, this initiative also contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), which emphasizes inclusive and equitable quality education, and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), which encourages the use of innovative technologies for sustainable development. Hence, this collaboration is expected to be a tangible contribution from DTI ITS in nurturing resilient, competitive educators who are ready to face the challenges of the digital era.
