Exploring the Creative Process Behind the Scenes

The vlogging competition did not focus solely on evaluating the final video. Anas asked participants about the behind-the-scenes process of creating their vlogs, giving them an opportunity to share how their work was produced. These questions allowed participants to explain their creative processes while demonstrating their understanding of the messages they intended to convey.

Gagatsatya and Henning also asked participants to provide real-life examples related to their vlog themes. This approach connected the ideas presented in their work with the participants’ everyday experiences. During the session, both lecturers also encouraged several visibly nervous participants to explain their work more confidently and calmly.

Four Themes, Four Different Perspectives

The finalists’ works showcased a variety of themes, ranging from environmental awareness and digital behavior to productivity and cultural heritage.

The team from MTsN 2 Sidoarjo (Ubaidillah Abrar Bachtiar, Nasywa Cantika Indita Putri, and M. Fahri Hariyadi) presented a vlog titled “Yang Tersisa, Menjadi Cahaya” (What Remains Becomes Light). The video highlighted an annual fashion show featuring costumes creatively made from waste and recycled materials, bringing together creativity and environmental awareness.

The team from MTsN Kota Madiun (Allvian Cakti Naufal Kenshie Pratama, Ayusya Oktovanadif Shidqia, and Shelda Azhira Ramadhani) explored the theme of validation-seeking through their vlog, “Rajin di Depan Kamera, tetapi Aslinya?” (Active in Front of the Camera, but What About Behind It?). The team delivered clear and straightforward answers to the judges’ questions, earning them first place.

The team from MAN 3 Nganjuk (Apriliya Kunti Salsabila, Annisa Nurul Fitria, and Risky Alviano), through their work titled “KATUT (Terseret)” (Swept Along), encouraged viewers to channel their fear of missing out (FOMO) into positive activities to become more productive.

Meanwhile, the team from MAN Bondowoso (Fabian Wahyu Perdana, Muhammad Nabih Hasya, and Muammar Khadafi) introduced local cultural heritage through their vlog, “Bukan Sekadar Tradisi, Bondowoso dalam Lensa Generasi Muda” (More Than Just Tradition: Bondowoso Through the Lens of the Younger Generation). Their presentation was enhanced by traditional regional clothing and cultural props, complemented by impressive video quality.

The MAN Bondowoso team presents a vlog showcasing local cultural heritage, wearing traditional attire and displaying distinctive cultural props, including a Singo Ulung mask, before the judging panel consisting of Anas Machfudy Al Junaedi, S.T., M.T., M.Sc., Dr. Ir. Simple Creations, Meaningful Impact in Schools

In the learning media innovation competition, the preparedness of the finalist teachers received appreciation from the judges. The participants’ explanations helped the judges better understand how their creations could benefit their respective school environments.

Taufiq expressed his admiration for the participants’ outstanding level of preparation. He noted that several ideas initially perceived as simple had, in fact, made a meaningful impact in the teachers’ schools, allowing the judges to appreciate their work from a broader perspective. He also expressed his enthusiasm for welcoming more innovative ideas from teachers if given another opportunity to serve as a judge in the following year.

In his remarks, the Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of East Java Province, Dr. H. Akhmad Sruji Bahtiar, M.Pd.I., emphasized that competitions serve as an opportunity for individuals to grow into better and more professional people. He used the analogy of vegetables without salt to illustrate the importance of competition in the process of personal growth. Meanwhile, the Head of the Madrasah Education Division at the East Java Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Dr. Sugiyo, M.Pd., highlighted the importance of students’ dedication and perseverance in pursuing success in life.

At the closing ceremony, Taufiq announced the winners of the learning media innovation competition, while Henning announced the winners of the vlogging competition. Both announced the winners from third place to first place. All parties expressed their hope that the collaboration between the East Java Provincial MGMP Informatika MTs–MA and DTI ITS would continue to develop positively.
